This policy describes the Free tier. Cloud sync and remote web access are not enabled unless you explicitly opt in after they become available.
StreetGaze uses the device camera and on-device face detection (Google ML Kit) to estimate how many people passed your window and how many looked toward it. Results are shown as trends, not exact counts.
You accept this positioning during onboarding: “I understand this is a trend indicator, not an exact counter.”

Tracking IDs exist only in memory during a session to avoid double-counting; they are not persisted as personal data.
Local aggregates and settings stay on your device. Android cloud backup and device transfer are disabled for StreetGaze app data.
You may enter an email in Settings. This is optional — StreetGaze works fully offline without it. Free tier: stored only on your device until you join the waitlist. Join sends your email to our form provider (Formspree) over HTTPS so we can notify you; our inbox address is not shown in the app.
After setup, the app may ask whether you would pay for remote access. Your answer (Yes / Maybe / No) and optional price hint are stored locally on the device and are not uploaded in the Free tier.
When counting runs, a local dashboard may be available at http://<LAN-IP>:7878 with aggregates only (no video). It listens on your device’s Wi‑Fi address, not the public internet. Anyone on the same Wi‑Fi may open it — prefer a staff-only network. Connection limits help reduce abuse on low-RAM tablets.
